Tombstones are certain types of print ads that appear in newspapers or magazines. Tombstone ads are usually an unadorned text, black with white, often flanked in a simple box, with a centralized headline and a number of lines in the body of the ad, usually also centrally. The name is derived from their similarity in appearance to the text on the grave marker marker (tombstone).
