Histori
McDonald found that traditional folding maps were too large to carry with him on a travel research trip and wanted an easier solution. From here Z-CARD was developed and launched in 1992, with the company as seen today which was established in 2003.
Z-CARD was quickly adopted as a marketing communication tool and achieved a prevalence such that the term "z-card" is now used as a reference to many z-fold or concertina cards and not just those produced by Z-CARD Ltd. While Z-CARD pioneered the z-fold market from 1992, a number of other companies have entered the market by producing their own z-fold format. The original inspiration for the product comes from a familiar fold-out map format.
