In Canada, provincial driver licenses are the main form of government-issued identity photos. However, many Canadians are not driving. Alberta
Alberta provides its residents with Identification Cards. This card is manufactured by the Alberta Service. The minimum age for this card to be issued is 12 years, but anyone under the age of 18 requires parental consent. Alberta has not produced an enhanced card for non-drivers.
British Columbia
British Columbia produces B.C. identity card (BCID). The minimum age to apply for this card is 12 years, although individuals under the age of 19 require parental consent. The production of these cards is managed by the British Columbia Insurance Company, the same office as the BC driver license. There is currently a $ 35 charge for five years, unless a valid driver license is exchanged.
