ItsJustSomeRandomGuy is an alias of Michael Agrusso , an American acting writer, writer and singer who works and lives in Los Angeles, California. This channel is the source of the parody series of the YouTube videos " Hi, I'm a Marvel... and I'm DC ", which cheats the Apple Get a Mac television ad, known for their opening line , "Hello, I'm Mac..." "... And I'm a PC."

In late February/early March 2007, Agrusso read Internet news that movies based on DC Comics The Flash and Wonder Woman characters both lost their directors due to creative differences with Warner Brothers on the same day. Instead, some future films based on Marvel Comics characters are being produced. He then saw the ad "Get a Mac", which he inspired to use the parody of the contrasting success of Marvel and DC film production.

Marvel/DC parody
Agrusso first wrote scripts for four videos, using two characters, Spider-Man (Marvel) and Superman (DC), as representatives of their company. She and Li filmed real-time action figures with white sheets using iSight cameras in Mac Agrusso notebooks. They filmed the first video in an hour, and made edits and voice work in an hour. On March 6, 2007, he made hisJustSomeRandomGuy channel on YouTube, and posted the first video. After posting the first two videos throughout March 2007, Agrusso posted six more videos in the following months, also introducing Marvel and other DC characters, as well as Lance (bartender) original characters, Lars (a.k.a. Lance 2.0) and an unnamed referee.
Concerned with the format "Hi, I'm a Marvel" will be old and repetitive, Agrusso and Li introduced the Hero Bar setting for their characters in the sixth and eighth video of Marvel vs DC. They then left the format "Hi, I'm Marvel" and started a new video series: After Hours . The first three episodes of After Hours allow Agrusso to expand his role with characters from other comic movie adaptations. The end of After Hours # 3 reveals the plot and arranges the rest of the 7-part series as a complex and serious storyline in which Lex Luthor tries to prevent Stan Lee from creating the Marvel Universe. Each subsequent episode becomes longer in play time. The last two of After Hours should be cut in half and posted separately. The story also explores new settings, especially the wood-themed Villains Hangout.
Between Clock # 4 and # 5 , Agrusso told fans that he attended Comic Con 2007. There, representatives of Marvel.com approached him and Li and interviewed them. After that, on August 14th, Marvel.com posted an interview recorded on their website. At the same time, Agent M, an official Marvel.com blogger, also interviewed Agrusso and posted the channel's first video along with an interview transcript to his blog. Since then, Agent_M has posted six other videos from the Agrusso channel. Also, in the interim period between After Clock # 5 and # 6 , Agrusso created a new spin-off for the Green Goblin character. Titled Goblin Bloggin , it parodies internet bloggers, because Green Goblin babbles about life and its relationships, and responds to emails. Agrusso created a real hotmail account specifically for fans to write an email to a fake blog: goblinbloggin@hotmail.com. He posted Goblin Bloggin '# 2 between After Clock # 6 and # 7 on October 7, 2007, and Goblin Bloggin' # 3 between Hour # 1 and # 2 on July 6, 2008.
On December 2, 2007, the channel posted holiday-themed videos that went astray from their video humor tones with the theme of giving and receiving gifts. Based on Clement Clark Moore's poem, "'Twas the Night Before Christmas," Agrusso originally wrote it as a Christmas present for Li in December 2006. The video was featured on YouTube's main page for weeks.
Over two months after the last episode of After Hours , which signaled the second season with Joker, Agrusso posted a promo video on January 27, 2008 for Happy Hour, the second video channel series with storyline. The promo has nothing to do with the actual Happy Hour storyline. Three months later, on April 19, 2008, Happy Hour # 1 debuted at New York Comic Con 2008 and was posted on the channel a few hours later. Then this series will run for five months, when the summer of 2008 begins. A month after the promo Happy Hour was released, Agrusso released news on the channel on February 19, 2008, that he was hired by New York Comic Con to make a promotional video for their event in April 2008. However, he could not post it unless he gets the rights from Marvel and DC. Two days later, he posted three of Marvel's first promotional videos, showing that Marvel supports and allows him to post videos with their characters. He posted two other videos for the next two months before the event. On April 11, 2008, a week before the convention, Agrusso released more news that NYCC scheduled a live panel for her to premiere her first episode of Happy Hour and talk with fans. The panel on April 19, 2008, called "ItsJustSomeRandomPanel", begins with an opening montage, which collects clips from its videos. (The video was posted on the channel that night.) Agrusso officially started with an admission that he forgot to buy a second plane ticket for Li. Instead, he shows his video to fans, where Li explains its crucial role in video making and aggression that stumbles in the process. It was also posted on the channel that night. Agrusso continued his presentation with a DC-centric promo video he made for the convention. At the request of DC, he was not allowed to post it on the channel, and for the most part, the Internet public has not seen it yet. He then described Happy Hour as a series with actual sets, special effects and a larger storyline, but retained the same humor. Then he shows the two parts of Happy Hour # 1 . He then posted this video as well, posting 4 videos that had never been there before in one night.
After the video, there is a Q & amp; A short. Here is a summary of what Agrusso says:
- Agrusso does not make money from videos because "it opens a can of legal worms".
- He paid for a promo for NYCC.
- He is open to advertising for action figure companies and goes outside Marvel and DC lines
- As to whether he was asked to write any comic book, he will not comment.
- All her videos are finished on her Mac computer.
- He does all the voice of his own male character.
- He uses ThorBuster Iron Man because "it is the most handsome Iron Man figure in a secondhand store I visit." He did not know it was a Thorbuster armor. He told fans to wait for an upgraded Iron Man, after the movie-based figures were sold.
- Happy Hour is the future of her video production efforts, once again citing her fears about the revisited "Hi, I'm a Marvel" format.
- His Green Goblin video blog, "Goblin Bloggin '" will also continue.
- Like how the video was made, Agrusso uses a movie analogy: "I will be like a writer/director" (and voice actor). Li does everything: cinematography, props, and costumes; deserve more credit than fans may realize.
- Batman and Spider-Man make a great and unlikely comic duo: Spider-Man is weird, while Batman is everything Spidey hopes for: "cool, rich and driving car". Green Goblin and Lex Luthor have similar dynamics.
- As ItsJustSomeRandomGuy leaves YouTube to start his own site: "I want to do the same with banner ads and get paid for this." However, it exposed him to legal issues if he made a profit.
In the summer of 2008, five movie superhero films were opened: Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Hancock, Hellboy II: The Golden Force Land , and The Dark Knight . In response, Agrusso created the second "Hi, I'm a Marvel" series, this time with Iron Man (Marvel), Hulk (Marvel), Batman (DC) and Hellboy (Dark Horse), not Spider-Man and Superman.. The series runs throughout the summer as new superhero films are opened.
On October 3, 2008, more than five months since the debut of Happy Hour # 1, Agrusso posted Happy Hour # 2 . The reason for the time gap is that Agrusso and Li returned to the format "Hi, I'm Marvel" during the summer movie season of 2008, making seven videos at the time. On November 5, 2008, Agrusso posted Happy Hour # 3 . On January 15, 2009, Agrusso posted Happy Hour # 4 . In the video information section, he posted this message: "To Summary at New York Comic Con on February 7 at 4:00 in HerJustSomeRandomGuy's Panel! Coming online after that!" On February 8, 2009, Happy Hour # 5 debuted at New York Comic Con 2009 and posted on channel a few hours later. This concludes the storyline Happy Hour .
Agrusso was once again employed by New York Comic Con to make a promotional video for their event in February 2009. On December 18, 2008, December 31, 2008, January 13, 2009, January 21, 2009 and January 28, 2009, he posted five Marvel-centric promotional videos , the latter parodying the "priceless" television ad from MasterCard. In addition to promotional videos, NYCC again scheduled panels for Agrusso and Li, this time to show the season premiere of Happy Hour , more new videos, and a question and answer session.
In February 2009, Agrusso and Li took some deliberate steps to connect with ItsJustSomeRandomGuy fans. They created a Twitter account so that fans could be more easily updated about their activities, they collaborated with another parody video maker, The Fine Brothers, by voicing Batman in their Lost parody series, and on February 24, 2009, they held Q & amp directly; Session on blogTV to answer questions from fans who can not be present at New York Comic Con 2009. On February 24th, 2009, immediately after their live Q & A session via blogTV, Agrusso and Li recorded a 10 minute video on blogTV, allowing anyone who missed session to see examples. As of March 28, 2009, the video has been viewed over 11,830 times. On February 26, 2009, Agrusso filed a request to YouTube that ItsJustSomeRandomGuy became a YouTube partner channel, and was immediately accepted. As partners, Agrusso and Li are now receiving a share in revenue for the ads that are visible during their videos, and they also have partner privileges, such as automatic video playback, the ability to post more than three playlists on their channel, and distribution of their videos to "the largest online video community in the world" through YouTube and its syndicated partners. On March 26, 2009, Agrusso posted a short video announcing that he and Li would begin broadcasting a weekly live chat session on blogTV, every Tuesday night from March 31, 2009.
2009 saw the opening of Watchmen and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In response, Agrusso started the third "Hi, I'm a Marvel" series with Wolverine, Sabretooth, Deadpool, Cyclops, and Gambit representing Marvel and Rorschach, Doctor Manhattan, The Comedian and Nite Owl representing DC. The first video was posted on March 4, 2009, the second was posted on March 13, 2009, and the third was posted on March 23, 2009. Also in 2009, Agrusso began spoofing the main summer blockbuster with Marvel/DC characters since no comic movies of Marvel and DC were released.
In 2010, Marvel released Iron Man 2 and DC released Jonah Hex. Argusso created the fourth "Hi, I'm a Marvel" series that coincided with the release of the film. He uses Iron Man to represent Marvel and Jonah Hex to represent DC. The first video was released on May 5, 2010 and the second was released on May 24, 2010. The video that aired on May 24 was uploaded to HisJustSomeRandomGuy's 100th.
Character
Characters from other companies make occasional appearances, such as Hellboy (Dark Horse Comics), Woody from Toy Story (Disney/Pixar), Spawn (Comic Image), Kick-Ass (Icon), The Losers (Vertigo ), and Constantine (Vertigo).
Real-Life guys are also used in episodes. Bob Kane, Stan Lee, Bill Finger, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko are all shown
PGA Golf Goods Fairs of Ontario
On October 16, 2008, Agrusso posted this message on ItsJustSomeRandomGuy channel: "We were hired to make a video for the PGA Golf PGA Golf Exhibition! Look at my favorites!"
He then adds a video to the "Favorites" section of the channel, which promotes the previously mentioned event. Although the video was posted by the ONTPGA YouTube channel on August 27, 2008, this video is clearly the work of Agrusso and Li, as in the same format as other videos (live-action statues voiced by Agrusso). Although he does not use Marvel or DC action figures, there is a cameo appearance by the original character Agrusso, Lance M. Donovan.
Reception and popularity
On November 25, 2012, 165,528 YouTube users subscribed to their channel and videos have been viewed over 79 million times; the channel's first video has been viewed over 4.8 million times. An official press release by New York Comic Con through Comic Book Resources called Agrusso "an authentic Internet superstar." In July 2008, q4music.com ranked one of those channel videos as one of the top ten YouTube videos each month.
Some online magazines such as Wonderland Stream magazine, Comic Book Resources, Newsarama, Comic Mix, and SpoutBlog have posted interviews with Agrusso, the channel's creator. Some others have reviewed, researched, and written articles about the channel, even giving wider exposure. In fact, this channel has become so popular that Joe Leo, a columnist for Apple's strategic advertising partner, PowerBook Central, notes and writes articles in his column about it.
Although Agrusso does not work for Marvel, Marvel.com has a featured blog featuring videos and posting their interviews with them. In March 2008, Marvel gave him the right to use their characters in a promotional video for New York Comic Con 2008. The channel recreates the personality of some comic book characters, including Green Goblin. On October 1, 2008, Iron Man director Jon Favreau mentioned hisJustSomeRandomGuy's work in the Los Angeles Times live chat: "I love the Marvel/DC YouTube bit on Iron Man and Dark Knight." The Marvel people love them too.
The channel mainly deals with comic films from two major comic book companies (Marvel and DC) using humor. Agrusso writes, performs, and shoots his videos at home.
Since the channel's first video in March 2007, several other successful Marvel/DC video series have been made, as well as a promotional video for a large comic book convention, which also gives Agrusso its own language panel to talk about the channel. Some external websites have posted their videos on their own web pages.
In 2012, Agrusso voiced Superman in an episode of the popular web series, Death Battle , by ScrewAttack, and also helped promote the videos by themselves. It was the most requested episode in which Superman will fight Goku from Dragon Ball Z, and has received 38 million views to this day. Agrusso took his role for the second episode in 2015.

Music
Agrusso uses the GarageBand program on his computer to create lots of background music for his videos. He has composed several pieces of music:
- The main theme behind most of Agrusso's videos is a simple three-chord progression that uses synthesized pianos and mimics the "Hello, I'm a Mac" ad background.
- The opening music for After Hours # 4 is a techno piece created by Agrusso. He then released the full version with audio footage from previous videos on YouTube.
