Work-based activities ( ABW ) is a transformational business strategy that provides people with choice of settings for various workplace activities. Rather than forcing individuals to do all their work in one setting, such as a fixed table or in a designated cubicle, ABW seeks to encourage people to physically find themselves in the place that suits them best to complete their work. Spaces are designed to create opportunities for various workplace activities from intense and focused work to informal and informal meetings or more formal meetings.

Histori
The first known reference to the analysis of office mode work is American architect Robert Luchetti from the late 1970s. He co-authored the now widely accepted office concept as a series of "activity settings" in 1983. In a settings-based activity setting, several settings are provided that have different technical and physical attributes assembled to support various "mode" performance that occur in the work environment.
The term "activity based working" was first created in the book of the Art of Work by Erik Veldhoen, a Dutch consultant and author of The Demise of the Office . ABW was first applied by Interpolis in the nineties in the Netherlands.

Activity-based office
The concept of office-based modern office activities is set to improve productivity through interaction stimulation and communication while maintaining employee satisfaction and reducing accommodation costs. Although some research has entered the understanding of added value, there is still a need for clear data about the relationship between office design, its intentions and actual use after implementation.
The concept of an activity-based workplace has been implemented in the organization as a solution to improve office space efficiency. However, the question of whether the comfort or productivity of office workers disrupted in the pursuit of space efficiency has not been fully investigated. There are constraints and issues of concern when practicing the concept of activity-based offices. A study conducted in workplace-based workplace settings reported that anonymously assigned employees complained of desk shortages, difficulty finding co-workers limiting direct collaboration, finding time wasted and setting up workstations, and limited ability to customize or personalize workstations to meet individual ergonomic needs.
Need for new office
To create a successful work environment, it is important to have insight into employee demands and behavior using this environment.
There are three pillars that support a new way of working, based on an activity-based work philosophy. It is a behavioral, virtual and physical environment of the work environment, which can be tied to the work processes of human resources, IT and facility management in the work environment.
