Maxim Caterers Limited (Mandarin: ???????? ; Sidney Lau: mei 5 sam 1 sik 6 tire 2 yau 5 haan 6 gung 1 the 1 ) is a 50% Hong Kong-based food, beverage and restaurant chain owned by Dairy Farm International Holdings Limited. Founded in 1956, the company operates more than 900 outlets in Hong Kong, China, Cambodia and Vietnam. These include bakeries, fast-food restaurants and Starbucks coffee shop licenses. The Maxim restaurant has been targeted by conservation campaigners concerned with Maxim's support for shark expansion.

Background and portfolio
Hong Kong Maxim's Group was founded in 1956 by JT brothers and ST Wu. Food & amp; beverage companies have grown significantly since to operate Asian and European restaurants, fast food outlets, bakeries, and institutional catering. In January 2018, the group manages more than 980 stores in Hong Kong, China, Vietnam and Cambodia.
Claim Maxim has established the first Sino-Foreign joint venture in China in 1980 with their air catering. They are now providing air catering services in 11 cities through joint ventures. In 1986, half of Maxim's shares were sold to the Jardine Group, but the Wu family still had the right to make strategic decisions; this position is maintained until now. As a result, more branches of various brands and restaurants of Maxim have been opened in Hong Kong property, such as Jardine House, The Landmark, Exchange Square and World Trade Center. They claim to employ 13,800 people, serving more than 700,000 subscribers per day.

In 1998, Maxim launched a restaurant series called m.a.x. concept , which manages the restaurant brands including MAX, Cellini, Mecca, Thai Basil, plus meals, Mezz, cafà ©  © Landmark, Emporio Armani Caffà © Å ©, and Kiku and Miso's modern restaurants.
In 2004 the company opened the French-Vietnamese Rice Paper restaurant chain. That same year, Maxim's Fast Food started producing ready-to-eat food and appetizers for sale at 7-11 and Wellcome supermarkets.
Maxim bought Genki Sushi in early 2006, and the company introduced Lawry's American restaurant to Hong Kong in the same year. Maxim and Australian chef Geoff Lindsay open the Pearl on the Peak restaurant at the Peak Tower. The company is the licensee of Ippudo ramen and The Cheesecake Factory in various regions.
In May 2000, Maxim partnered with Starbucks Coffee International, Inc. to form Coffee Concepts Ltd., hold licenses for Hong Kong and Macao.

Shark fin controversy
Maxim's has been targeted by campaigners about the company's support for shark forgery. On June 10, 2017, dozens of people protested at their flagship 'Maxim's Palace' restaurant for selling endangered and endangered shark species. 50 demonstrators attended a demonstration at Maxim's branch at The University of Hong Kong on February 10, 2018.
