Badgley Mischka

Is there a reason why Badgley Mischka is sorted alphabetically after Carlos Miele in this template? Supposedly after Max Azria. Blahb31 (talk) 12:21, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Maps Template talk:Designer labels

Actually we need to talk about the criteria to include here

How do we determine who should be in this template and who does not? Apparently, taken to extremes, this template could include all the names on the Fashion designer's list PLUS The list of shoe designers and a few more entries, which would be ridiculous. I think we need some very clear and specific rules/criteria. Mabalu (talk) 22:25, October 18, 2015 (UTC)

Ping 15zulu, Sardanaphalus, as an active editor and creator. The problem is that if we do not have really clear criteria to include, then these templates can quickly become uncontrollable with anyone assuming they can add company labels/designers to the template. Do not know, I mainly edit the link. I added three because I saw them while working adding navbox to the designers who were already on the list and thought they were suitable. If all three are inappropriate, feel free to delete them. 15zulu (talk) 12:00, October 23, 2015 (UTC)
I think this list should be just the real name of the fashion designer who started the eponymous label, and should not include a brand like J Crew. (Heroeswithmetaphors) talk 19:15, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Duplicate links

We may only link to each article once per navbox. Every article includes twice here, which obviously causes redundancy. I've deleted links by country that supports alphabetical lists, but I have no real preference if consensus prefers grouping by country. But one or the other, not both. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:11, October 22, 2015 (UTC)

I prefer a list of countries because it provides some sort of organization/categorization vs. just a huge list of spam. 15zulu (talk) 12:01, October 23, 2015 (UTC)

criteria to include

I recently edited to reflect the idea that this template is not meant to list all existing clothing brands but only brands that are the actual designer names. In time, this template can only reflect the live designer. (Heroeswithmetaphors) talk 00:32, February 15, 2017 (UTC)

What is the reason to include only live designers, compared to existing brands? - Ryk72 'c.s.n.s.' 17:15, June 15, 2017 (UTC)
Because otherwise, this navbox will be a giant and bloated with every remaining brand ever designed by any designer. Categories exist for that. (Heroeswithmetaphors) talk 22:13, July 23, 2017 (UTC)
@Heroeswithmetaphors: Apology. To be clear, the question is not "why do we have inclusion criteria?" which you have given a very good reason; but "why live designer is an inclusion criterion?". - Ryk72 'c.s.n.s.' 06:17, July 26, 2017 (UTC)
  • NOTE: a) If we remove a label whose founders no longer live, then we should also delete - Prada, Emilio Pucci, Sonia Rykiel, Versace, Missoni, Mouawad, Lacoste, Guy Laroche, Levi's, Gucci, Fendi, Fiorucci, Etienne Aigner, Laura Biagiotti, ST Dupont. b) If we remove labels that are not eponymous, then we should also remove - Proenza Schouler, Mulberry, Escada, Akris, Ally Capellino, Dean and Dan Caten. - Ryk72 'c.s.n.s.' 06:34, July 26, 2017 (UTC)
Yes, and yes. Lets do it. (Heroeswithmetaphors) talk 17:08, July 27, 2017 (UTC)
